Granudan Composite-Shield (Solvent based)
Our Composite-Shield (a BreeZ product) provides a moderate release effect. Used for larger boat molds and for molds where you do not want too good release.
Granudan Composite-Shield prevents pre-release and has a high number of releases.
We recomment the mold to be treated with ”Granudan Sealer GP” before using the Granudan Composite-Shield.
This product is easy to use and contains no (PFAS) fluorine-containing substances and is therefore not harmful to the environment or in the production.
Curing time: 30 min in room temperatures at minimum 20°C
Thermal stability up to 480°C
Approx. 100-130 sqm./liter.

Granudan Composite-Shield
Description
Composite-Shield is used in larger boat molds, for mill houses, and for molds where you don’t want too much slip, as the items are generally easy to demould. Granudan Composite-Shield gives a medium high gloss and a medium high release.
It is applied to the form with 2 layers according to the instructions below.
Instructions:
- Soak a clean, soft, lint- and lint-free cotton cloth. The cloth must be just exactly soaked, but not dripping.
- Apply your slipcoat with a light hand without rubbing hard, on an area corresponding to approx. 50 x 50 cm. A thin wet film will appear. Wipe immediately afterwards, while the film is still wet, with a clean, soft, lint- and lint-free cotton cloth. Hard rubbing is not necessary (turn the cloth frequently so that the wet release agent is constantly wiped off with dry cloth). Continue until the entire mold is processed. A wet continuous surface will appear.
- Apply 2 coats of ZYVAX Flex-Z slipcoat, as described in points 1 to 2. Between each application, the form should dry for a minimum of 15 minutes.
- After the last layer, the mold hardens to a minimum. 30 minutes at a room temperature of 18-21°C. – The mold is now ready for countless impressions.
NOTE! : The mold must be treated with ”Granudan Sealer GP” before using the Granudan Composite-Shield!
